SMARTLINER Installation & Care Guide
Get the most out of your SMARTLINER custom-fit floor mats and cargo liners. SMARTLINER mats install in minutes using your vehicle's factory retention hooks, with no drilling or modifications required. Follow these steps to protect your vehicle's interior and extend the life of your liners.
Verify your part number
Check the back of your floor mat for a white sticker. The part number always starts with A, B, C, D, or E.
Installation
-
Remove your old mats
Take out any factory or aftermarket floor mats before installing your SMARTLINER mats.
-
Secure with factory retention hooks
Use your vehicle's factory hooks or posts to hold the mats in place. Some mats have a raised dome instead of a hook ring, post cap, or twist lock. The dome sits over the factory hook, so no hole is needed.
-
Let the mats settle
Edges may arrive curled or bent from shipping. This is normal. The mats return to their original shape within 48 hours once placed in your vehicle.
Tip: To speed this up, lay the mats in warm sun or a warm area for 15–30 minutes. -
Check pedal clearance (front row only)
Before driving, press each pedal through its full range of motion.
Important: If anything catches on the mat, remove it before driving. Contact us if the issue continues after the mat settles.
Care & storage
- Don't fold or bend the mats for storage. This can cause permanent creases.
- Keep the floor dry underneath. SMARTLINER mats are waterproof, so moisture trapped underneath won't evaporate. After cleaning your carpet, make sure it's completely dry before putting the mats back. If liquid gets under a mat, remove it right away until the floor dries. Trapped moisture can lead to mold, mildew, and vehicle damage.
Cleaning
Do
- Use water and a damp sponge or cloth
- For sticky or greasy spills, use a mild soap (like dish soap) with water
Don't
- Use chemicals, solvents, or abrasive cleaners
- Use household cleaners, including window cleaners, floor cleaners, polishes, or all-purpose cleaners
